Benefits using SPLA licensing

The SPLA licensing program is designed based on direct feedback from clients:

Competitive Pricing: With SPLA, service providers have access to the most current versions of the products available in the Program for one simple monthly price which includes Software Assurance. The monthly bill is based upon number of users for that month and is especially suitable for companies that may have fluctuating staff levels.
Pricing Stability: SPLA price changes (if any) will only occur on an annual basis in January and will be proportional to price changes in the Microsoft Open Licensing Program during the preceding year.
Use Rights Protection: The Service Provider Use Rights (SPUR) document details all product use rights for this program. Product use rights are specific to each version and will not change for the duration of the program. The user is assured a legally licensed Microsoft environment.
Cash Flow Management: With SPLA, service providers have near zero start-up costs, since they only pay for licenses based on what is used each month. Also, SPLA can be classified as an operational running expense rather than a capital cost.
Academic SKUs Available: Academic pricing on selected server products is available when service providers deploy services to Qualified Education Customers.
Standardized reporting: MOET (Microsoft Order Entry Tool) is the standard Web-based order-entry tool for this program. This easy reporting tool helps service providers report their monthly license usage to Microsoft Operations Centers.

NB 1 Where applicable, Server Costs are built in to the calculations.

NB 2 The SPLA montly rate is payable for your reported number of users each month. If your staffing levels vary, therefore, you will not be paying for unused licenses.

NB 3 With the 'Normal' Microsoft pricing, the SA ( Software Assurance ) option must be taken every two years and this must be taken up within the first 30 days of purchasing the License, after which time it is no longer available to the buyer.

SPLA Pay-as-you-Use pricing includes the assurance that you will receive all the lastest upgrades as they become available, without any additional payments at all over and above your monthly rate.
