RES Wisdom Case Study

With 4 servers and in excess of 200 computers Brigidine School required an application that would assist the IT department in deploying applications and running maintenance tasks across all computers in the network. To save money the school wanted a way to control power consumptions.

The  IT department was finding it difficult to keep all workstations up to date with all the various software applications, service packs and windows updates that were required to be installed on each computer.  Electric power consumption was also a concern as computers were often being left of overnight.  As the school was only open 9-5 Monday to Friday to have computer running for no reason was a big issue.

FWCS recommended the use of RES Wisdom, not only would RES Wisdom give the IT staff easy access to deploying software packages and running maintenance tasks the RES Wisdom also included a number of pre-installed modules to further assist the IT department with day to day administrative  tasks.

Brigidine School realized the benefits of implementing RES Wisdom very early on as rollouts of new software could be performed in hours instead of days/weeks.  The task management module was an ideal solution for solving the issue of workstation power usage; a simple but effective task was implemented to keep all workstations powered off between the hours of 6pm and 7am.
