There are lots of companies out there who can offer the same products and services as FWCS. But IT support is a service business and what makes the difference is our people. The relationships we build with our clients are the reason firms choose us over our competitors and stay with us for years. Our customers know FWCS people genuinely care about their business and trust them to deliver what they promise. Allow us to introduce you to the FWCS team:
Daniel McPherson - Director
Daniel, whose involvement with FWCS dates back to July 2008, semi-accurately describes his role as “getting in the way”. Appropriately enough for someone whose job it is to see the big picture, the expression he uses to excess is “The key thing”. Fortunately, Daniel’s wife is his ideal woman and the best advice he’s ever been given is “Mind the dog mess”. Here’s our advice to you: if lunching with Daniel don’t ever say “I’ll have whatever he’s having” – it’s likely to be a banana and peanut butter sandwich!
Jo Honey - Managing director
Jo
is responsible for the smooth running of FWCS on a daily basis but
still finds time to look after her many loyal clients. Honest,
ambitious and trustworthy, Jo’s business philosophy is to “under
promise, over deliver”. The best advice she’s ever been given is that
it doesn’t matter what decision you make – it will all turn out the way
it was meant to in the end. Jo’s passions in life are her partner
Mike, QPR football team and cat Stanleigh (named after football
maverick Stan Bowles) – not necessarily in that order!
Jonathan Smy - Technical manager
The dedicated Jonathan, who
joined FWCS nine years ago, designs IT solutions for clients and gives
them consultancy advice on improving system performance. He says he
gets great satisfaction in clearing his To Do list down to single
figures. Jonathan, whose role model is multi-millionaire businessman
Peter Jones, never stops - he has a bad habit of tapping his foot when
seated. Unsurprisingly, after a typical 12 to 14 hour day, his
favourite place is bed!
Sarah Matthews - Financial controller
If the fun-loving Sarah could switch places with anyone for a day she says it would be “someone who is really exciting and a risk taker – the total opposite to an accountant”. Bad drivers make Sarah angry and she claims her worst bad habit is sometimes saying the wrong thing. An awesome dancer, she also gets real satisfaction from helping to run her local Brownies pack. Her ideal man is TV presenter Declan Donnelly (the shorter, fairer half of ‘Ant & Dec’) who once kissed her. We checked and he’s still single Sarah . . .!
Emma Child - Finance administrator
The super tidy Emma deals
with all the finances of FWCS and despite her busy role says it doesn’t
feel like coming to work because of the great atmosphere. The people
she most admires are her parents for raising four daughters, none of
whom have gone off the rails. (Proving this, Emma’s worst habit
appears to be “eating too many crisps”) Headstrong, fun and caring,
she says the best advice she’s ever been given is “Follow your
instincts”. Acting on this, Emma once gatecrashed an Arsenal dinner
dance and had her photo taken with all the players!
Janine Reid - Sales administrator
Dealing with suppliers,
liaising with clients and co-ordinating engineers’ schedules are all
part of a typical busy day for South African Janine. Drivers who
dither in traffic and salespeople who lie are among the things that
make her angry, which perhaps explains why she says her worst habit is
swearing. But Janine soon calms down with a cup of Earl Grey and a bag
of M&Ms or Maltesers. Her rather gruesome claim to fame is that
she knows the policeman who picked up Heather Mills’ leg after it was
severed in a road accident.
Lauren Bateman - Sales administrator
Lauren’s
is the friendly voice you hear on the phone whenever you call the FWCS
office number, rather than support line. She says the best thing about
working at FWCS is the people who are more like friends than
colleagues. She gets great satisfaction when an engineer reports back
from a job she’s been involved in that all has gone well and the client
is happy. She’s always the first on the dance floor and, if you’re
buying, her favourite drink is a jug of woo woo!*
*Fill a cocktail shaker with ice, add 1oz vodka, 1oz peach schnapps and 2oz cranberry juice, shake then serve!
Sarah Tam-Im - Sales administrator
MD Jo describes the bubbly
Sarah as her “right hand woman” and she is also very popular with the
many FWCS clients she helps on a daily basis. If the new mum could
swap places with anyone for a day it would be her daughter Lyla to see
what some of her gurgles actually mean. Sarah loves her job and looks
forward to returning from maternity leave to see “the great FWCS people
who have helped me through some tough personal times”.
Andy Buck - Senior support engineer
Andy joined FWCS in 2003 and
is responsible for supporting all FWCS customers by phone and email.
Specialising in the install and maintenance of servers, PC’s, operating
systems and networking equipment, Andy has over 20 years hands-on core
level experience in the IT support industry.
Carl Green - Senior support engineer
Carl’s job involves
day-to-day helpdesk support, installations of hardware and software at
customer premises and training FWCS’s 1st and 2nd line engineers. He
is known for being kind, reliable and hardworking and the only vice
we’ve discovered is being untidy. Carl, who is married and has a dog
called Bailey, most admires Radio 1 DJ Chris Moyles for his charity
work. Richard Branson is the person Carl would most like to switch
places with so he could spend his money and holiday on his private
island!
Carlos Ferreira - Support engineer
Carlos is generally
the first person customers talk to when they ring the support line for
instant help. He describes his job as being to “get details of their
problem and help them from the get go to save them the trouble of
waiting for a callback”. In between sorting out IT issues, a typical
lunch is “mum’s cooking”. In the inexplicable absence of his ideal
woman Jessica Alba, Carlos enjoys having a laugh with his colleagues.
Clinton Tavares - Support engineer
At just 19 years
old, Clinton is the baby of the FWCS family and is only half joking
when he says his job involves making lots of tea. A cool dude, he
claims John Travolta in Pulp Fiction most closely matches his dancing
style. Clinton’s worst bad habit (or at least the worst one he’ll
admit to) is walking into a room and forgetting why on earth he’s
there. He says the best thing about working at FWCS is the people – we
love you too Clinton!
Jack Forrest - Support engineer
Physics graduate Jack is
definitely in the right job as he cites “getting to the bottom of a
problem” as giving him the greatest satisfaction in life! This coffee
fiend can often be heard asking, “Who wants a drink?” and a typical
lunch is usually ‘Lunchbox Number 6’ from the local Chinese takeaway.
Jack’s idea of relaxation is “chilling in front of a computer doing
something that doesn’t require x done by y”.
Stuart Hamilton - Support engineer
Stuart describes his
role as “resolving customers’ client and server side IT problems,
answering emails and generally being helpful”, which is something he’s
very good at. He was attracted to FWCS by the friendly, relaxed
working atmosphere and unwinds at the end of a hard day by walking
home. You’ll spot the clues that Stuart is a bit of a footie fan: his
hero is Tottenham legend Bill Nicolson (“the greatest football manager
ever to exist”) and he once called on Les Ferdinand’s house when trick
or treating.
Syed Abbas - Project manager
Chelsea
fan Syed joined FWCS a year ago as a 2nd line engineer. His promise
was quickly spotted and he was promoted to his current role organising
IT projects, installations, migrations and office moves. FWCS and his
family – wife Aqeela and baby daughter Khadija – are Syed’s twin
passions and drive everything he does. Syed enjoys watching TV
programmes such as The Apprentice and Dragons’ Den and the person he
most admires is Donald Trump, followed by Sir Alan Sugar. Syed says
the best advice he’s ever been given was by Francis West: “10% of life
is determined by what happens to you – the other 90% is what you make
of it.”
