When the Flemings Mayfair Hotel needed help to complete an essential upgrade to its obsolete property maintenance system (PMS) they turned to their IT support company FWCS Group to deliver a successful project on time.
Using FWCS Group’s expert support, sales and project staff, the upgrade was implemented within a strict 3 day window without interruption to their daily business of offering 4 star luxury accommodations in a chic town house style hotel within the heart of London’s Mayfair district.
Down time for the hotel’s IT system during the upgrade would mean lost essential revenue at a time when it simply would not be acceptable.
To oversee the equipment upgrade, FWCS Group worked closely with the Micros project team and using the FWCS sales, project management and technical support staff to their strengths, assigned the upgrade a dedicated project account manager who oversaw the entire task from the early planning stages; including consultation and liaison with Flemings Mayfair, Micros and the hardware suppliers, all the way through from purchasing, installation, completion and customer aftercare.
At early meetings with the customer and suppliers, it was agreed that a dedicated senior technical engineer with over a year’s detailed familiarity with the Flemings Mayfair Hotel’s unique site and IT requirements be on hand during all pre-sales contact and subsequently on-site to ensure all the technical aspects of the upgrade ran as smoothly as possible. Once the details of the system and equipment update had been agreed with the customer and the PMS supplier, the world leading Micros Fidelio Opera PMS system, work on this critical project started within days.

They were able to draw upon this, taking into consideration common factors facing all businesses in the current tough economical climate such as opening hours and staff scheduling.
This experience helped to ensure that all work undertaken complemented staff working hours, minimising IT downtime and any interruption to core practice activities. Even a last minute addition to the hardware requirements couldn’t throw off the project from its timely success.
